PLAYING ON THE BEACH

I've just returned from holiday, full of energy and a good amount of inspiration.

I could count a few years, about 6 ...... since I haven't laid on a sunbed all day long, admiring the sea and now the time spent is all about playing, playing and again playing.
Of course, the sand and the sea are the basic tools that invites you to play and combined with the creativity of my energetic twin girls, it results the perfect getaway for me and my family.
When I make the holiday luggage, besides bathing suits and sunscreens, what I never miss....... obviously, the beach toys,  the inflatable balls and swimmimg rings, that I want to tell you below.

PLAYING ON THE BEACH, it is an accessory inspired by the little ones activities the the seaside; there are so many sand molds as sea creatures, castles, beach buckets and shovels, so many....... but I stopped only to four of them, because I find them most amusing; the red crab, the green turtle, the pink sea horse and the blue star; colorful and smiling, they always accompany us in the beach bag; for the central piece I was thinking of a swim ring-sun shaped and inflatable balls, colorful and playful, rounding out the whole ensemble.

Now, let me tell you how can you use this; it's not by chance that I chose the theme marine, it was a friend's wish who just went on holiday with her baby; and because she wanted to enjoy her necklace with the same theme, she asked me to do something similar for her baby, but only for him .....
So, here is  the accessory, perfect to play, hanging and chew on, a multifunctional accessory for any playful baby, you can hang by your baby pram, clip to your wrap or decorate your baby bed.
It's also a convenient and fashionable alternative to travelling with many bulky toys.
It helps your baby to focus their attention and develop motor skills.

All the parts are cotton crocheted type, felted on the back side, the beads and rings are natural wooden type and all pieces are well fixed for the safety of your baby, but please, don't leave the baby alone with the chain, it could be dangerous, because of the very long cord !!!! It's about 150 cm long, so you can adjust it even to a twin pram;)
I hope my friend and her baby enjoy their holiday and because I've just whet my appetite for crocheted baby toys, I'm waiting for your proposal.

Set babywearing

Because I like to play with colors, and crocheted beads are so loved by my dear carrier mothers, I thought to enrich a little the collection of necklaces for breastfeeding with new color mixes; also, I've added an accessory that can be worn as a bracelet or just a teething toy for the little one.
The first set was inspired by a green and refreshing lemonade, perfect for the hot summer days.

Halloween jewelry set

I don't like to celebrate, but I'm always like to accesorized ;)
I've seen these days pro/contra opinions about this holiday; .... I'm somewhere between, I can not say that I don't like it, but I don't dislike it so bad; what I don't like ...... well, those hideous costumes  of skeletons and vampires full of blood and disfigured faces, brrrr .... look terrible; instead, I like pumpkins carved and decorated, even to eat them, they are so tasty in any form of cooking .... yummii.
But I'm not talking about this holiday, and about SWEET PUMPKIN set, a necklace with assorted bead earrings, made to a mothers' whish who wanted to wear something in tune with the Halloween kids party.
So, the necklace can be worn by any breastfeeding mother, the little ones will surely be delighted by the contrast between the two colors, bright orange and duck egg color (I don't know how to say in english).
Like all of my babywearing necklaces, not only breastfeeding mothers can worn it, but anyone who loves art and especially handmade crocheted accessories; that's why I've made also, assorted earrings.

Nursing necklaces - part II

About this time one year ago, I've creted my first necklace for breastfeeding and this thanks to my sister, who recently became a mother and she was very curious to test a necklace like this.
Having an eternal passion for flowers, of course I didn't have great confidence that something will come out of those crocheted balls, yeah ..... I thought, a necklace with colored balls, whatever, do it and move on with my flowers................but it was not so;)
After a little research about how it should look, their functionality and after I've seen the miracles from russian hands, the project began to take shape and one by one I imagined what can I do with these wooden beads; you must know that each necklace has a story, there are not simply strung beads, stories that you'll find in this blog; here is the beggining of the story, part I
I am very excited about this project, I proud myself that almost all of my nursing necklaces are original, with a few exceptions where I inspired and not copied, as others do.
The ideas came and inspired me by moment, most of them from what I like most: live nature with flowers, fruits and butterflies, sweets of all kinds, specific themes for every season, but I must say that I received also, beautiful ideas from moms and I thank them for that.
Also colors, I have to say something about color, if I brag myself now; I always liked to mix colors  ..... in my outfits, decorating my house (who has been there, knows that;)),  in food,  anywhere and anytime, colors are part of my life. I can not say that I've studied a colors theory, but my artistic spirit helped me every time :)
So, my necklaces are not just breastfeeding necklaces, they are creations with soul, passion and love for handmade art.

The story of my nursing necklaces will continues, I still have many colorful surprises for you, and of course I'm waiting for your proposals.

Necklace Watermelon

Guess what........ it's about the star fruit of August, the watermelon.
There is no other fruit for hot summer days, than watermelon; full of antioxidants and vitamins, excellent hydration source, but also the inspiration for my necklace;)

"Watermelon" created especially for breastfeeding mothers, but not only ....;)
 It's a baby friendly item, made with natural wood beads and cotton yarn, accessorised with flowers and a slice of watermelon;
Yummmi, cheerful, colorful and just perfect for the little ones to chew on......don't you agreed ?

Well.......I hope you enjoyed my new necklace, full of flavors and vitamins, which is my own design.....by the way; now, I invite you to enjoy some of the curiosities less known, about watermelon collected from the internet or "connoisseurs"
1. We know that it's a fruit, watermelon is actually a vegetable related with melon and cucumber.
2. We eat it as a dessert, but it's so delicious as an appetizer, with cheese or salads ...... our parents and grandparents know best;)
3. We use to eat only the core, but all parts are edible, core, shell and seeds; I recently learned from a friend from USA, who told me that they don't throw anything from watermelon and she prepared an excellent salad with watermelon shells. Also, Asians have some food recipes with watermelon shells ..... they look very yummmi
4. Shell can be used also as a snack, especially for those with blood pressure problems or obesity; the active ingredient, citrulline, improves blood circulation.
4. The seeds, full of benefits and what is more interesting, they could treat the diabet type II; however, keep attention how you eat, milled or tea, I think it's best
5. Also seeds improve libido and virility, so they are a good source of natural viagra;)

Colier Teddy bear

Ursuletul de plus, probabil cel mai indragit personaj al copilariei, a aparut si in colectia mea de coliere destinate mamicilor. Asadar, sa-i uram bun venit lui Teddy bear, varianta albastra.....de ce nu, la dorinta mamicii purtatoare ;)

Acest accesoriu minunat va fi prietenul de nadejde al micilor poznasi, care stim cu totii bine, cum incep ei sa exploreze mamica in timp ce sunt alaptati ;) Tocmai de aceea m-am gandit sa-l fac mai atractiv si l-am creat pe un inel de lemn usor de prins cu degetelele. Pentru un plus de armonie am adaugat si o floricica, astfel ca atunci cand vrem sa renuntam la ursulet, ramanem cu un colier vesel si colorat.
                                                                          

Si iata colierul Teddy bear in varianta finala. Culorile si posibilitatile de asortare sunt nenumarate, asa ca va astept propunerile.....sa facem o colectie intreaga de ursuleti.

 Intre timp va invit sa cititi si istoria ursuletului de plus Teddy, ale carui origini se pare ca sunt in America, dar si despre aparitia lui in Europa, mai exact in Germania. Citind aceasta poveste, mi-am adus aminte de calatoria mea la Berlin, cand am descoperit o multime de vitrine cu ursuleti, cu o parte dintre ei m-am si pozat ;) La vremea aceea nu stiam ca exista o poveste, dar mi-a placut ideea, se pare ca e chiar un simbol al orasului.

Coliere de vacanta

Pentru ca vara si-a intrat in drepturi de ceva vreme si gandul imi zboara doar la vacanta.....m-am hotarat sa realizez cateva coliere cu iz de mare.

Va invit asadar, sa visam impreuna la o plaja insorita cu nisip fin, sa privim valurile ce se sparg de tarm si pescarusii jucausi. Nu-i asa ca ceea ce va apare prima oara in vis este albastrul-turcoaz infinit al marii?Acum sa ne cufundam si mai mult in vis si sa cautam comorile marine, nu de alta dar trebuie sa ne completam colectia de scoici si stelute de mare ;) Auuuch....dar ce-a fost asta??!!! O meduza jucausa printre valuri ascunsa? Nu se poate......si ce frumos visam :)

Summer breeze

Daca tot am ajuns cu gandul la malul marii si deja simtim briza, haideti sa ne aventuram intr-o scurta croaziera in largul marii. Ne imbarcam pe un yacht, ne luam colacul de salvare si pornim la drum alaturi de timonierul ce pare sa stie unde-l duce vantul :) Marea e din ce in ce mai frumoasa, ici-colo, insulite salbatice......e timpul sa ne oprim un pic si aruncam ancora

 

Sailing fever

Intorsi la tarm, ne asezam confortabil pe un sezlong si savuram un minunat cocktail pregatit special sa ne revigoreze. Ce sa alegem oare, un Mojito, Blue Curacao, Cosmopolitan, Mai Tai......   hmmm, greu de decis, asa ca le-am adunat pe toate si am servit un "Summer cocktail"

Acum........ deschide ochii si trezeste-te la realitate :)
Nu avem yacht, nici briza marii nu o putem trimite prin posta dar suntem convinsi ca unul din colierele noastre te poate ajuta sa-ti recuperezi starea de spirit de vacanta.

Necklace " Spring petals "

Today is spring in my soul, a gentle little girl was born and I'll dedicate her this necklace "Spring petals". Such as news of childbirth brings you joy and smiles, also the appearance of stems, leaves and flowers with wonderful colors, talk about a new beginning....the spring one.
This spring necklace, could be a "must-have " accesory for every nreastfeeding mothers and their babies, Completely safe for your baby to touch and chew on, ideal for its first dental pains, for capturing attention while babies are breastfeed or while walking outdoors......your baby will love it.

Made with 10 natural wood balls, crochet covered, 100% cotton. The lenght is adjustable, crocheted type also. The model from picture was made by order and it's not for breastfeeding, as its cord is ribbon type.

Necklace " Forest fruits "

I continue  the story in the world full of flavors and vitamins, the color fruit's world, but this time, my source of inspiration .... berries:

Well.....this was the story of the necklace "Forest fuits" .I tried to be as close as the real colors, including raspberry and blackberries texture ..... I hope ;)
For a plus of harmony, I've added a crocheted strawberry and a flower strawberry, which I think .... completes so beautiful the berry cocktail.

I come back again in my childhood and I remember dearfully the days when I was hiking with my family and filled up our bags with raspberries, blueberries or blackberries; or my favorite dessert, fresh strawberries with cream and "little" sugar;)  Oh yes.... I had such a beautiful childhood; and for that ones who don't know what are those round, green and little bit lucent fruits, they are gooseberry; these fruits were growing in my grandparents' garden and I ate them straight from the branches.

Necklace " Citrus "

Necklace " My Lollipop "

I return during my childhood and I created a cheerful and fragrant necklace, vivid colors that remind us of the old dragges and of course...the delicious lollipop.

Did I stirred up beautiful memories? Do you remember how we tasted at a time, each candy, to discover the favorite flavor? I hope so ..... because I've collected all those delights in this beautiful necklace.

The necklace is made with 10 wood natural balls ( untreated ), crochet covered with 100% cotton thread, accesorized with a chocolate bow and a sweet lollipop. The back side of the lollipop is felted. The balls are tightened on a crochet cord with an adjustable lenght.

You can find the advantages of using this necklace, here, but most of all, this a original handmade necklace and it could be wear by everyone who loves handmade art.

Nursing necklaces - part I

Because recently I became an aunt and my sister is keeping me informed by the latest trends in babywearing, I've started to create these special necklaces, which are " must-have " accesories for every brestfeeding mom, in the same time, they are baby - friendly toys for playful babies.
They are specially created for capturing attention while babies are breastfeed, thus avoiding the small " nuisance " as nose pinching, hair pulling, and more....you know it :)
Moreover, a babywearing necklace will be the perfect accesory for outdoors walking, so that the little ones will love playing with the colorful beads, also they can help them to develop the fine motor skills.
To make them more attractive, I played with the colors and chose the most cherful ones. I'll tell you one by one, the story of each breasfeeding necklace, but before that, I'll make a brief description of handmade process.
They are made with natural wood balls ( untreated, unvarnished ), crocheted with 100% cotton yarn; I've chosen a high quality cotton, Schachenmayr mark, so they are completely safe for your babies to tocuh and chew on......ideal for first dental pains.
The balls and crocheted parts are tightened on a crocheted cord, very resistance, with adjustable lenght.
I reccomand washing machine at 30 degrees and a very important note :
ALTHOUGH THESE NECKLACE ARE MADE TO BE VERY SAFE FOR CHILDREN, NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED WITH IT !!!!
